Following the recent local government election in Oyo State, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, popularly known as Onala, convened a stakeholders meeting with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across Ibadan North Local Government.
The purpose of the meeting was twofold: to express gratitude for the overwhelming support received from the party, and to chart a course for the future.
In his opening remarks, Oluwaseun Olufade expressed profound appreciation to all stakeholders, particularly the leaders, for their unwavering efforts that contributed to the success of the just-concluded election, resulting in his victory as the Chairman-elect.
He also proposed that the campaign committee organize an inaugural ceremony to commemorate the comprehensive victory of the PDP across all the local government wards. The stakeholders endorsed this suggestion, expressing confidence in the committee’s ability to execute the task effectively.
Hon. Olufade, in a show of appreciation to Governor Seyi Makinde for the privilege to serve, vowed to complement the state government’s initiatives in fostering good governance and sustainable development. The event concluded with a heartfelt prayer from Elder Olasupo,
Adebowale Falana, the Director-General of the campaign, expressed gratitude for the collective effort of the entire party, which contributed to the success of the election. Additionally, he highlighted areas where improvements can be made for future electoral processes, emphasizing the importance of continuous refinement and enhancement in the party’s strategies.
Ibadan North PDP Chairman, Prince Adelore, expressed his delight at the unity maintained within the party during the election. He emphasized the importance of continuing this solidarity beyond the election, urging all members to remain steadfast in their electoral support and to actively contribute to enduring governance assistance.
Hon. Olaniyan Akoro, the campaign coordinator for Ibadan North federal constituency, commended the tireless efforts of the campaign committee and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their invaluable contributions to the resounding victory.
The meeting culminated in unanimous approval for the upcoming inauguration ceremony, symbolizing the unwavering trust and confidence bestowed upon the campaign committee’s capabilities.
Among the distinguished attendees were: Hon. Akoro, Chairman of Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Hon. Julian Nwachuku, S.A to Governor Seyi Makinde on Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Former Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Kazim Adeniyi Adeyinka Bibire, Former Chairman of Ibadan North, Hon. Demola Omotosho, all the incumbent councilors, councilors-elect, and party leaders from Ward 1 to 12 graced the occasion, emphasizing the collective commitment to the progress and prosperity of Ibadan North.
