Terrorist Attack in Zamfara State Claims Multiple Lives

A devastating incident occurred in Zamfara State, Nigeria, where bombs planted by terrorists, commonly referred to as bandits, resulted in the loss of six lives and injured eight others.¹ The tragic event took place on Wednesday along the Dansadau-Gusau road, specifically around the Mai Lamba axis under the Maru Local Government Area.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosives were planted by suspected terrorists along the road connecting Dansadau to other parts of the state. A Volkswagen Golf 3 vehicle triggered the bomb, leading to a fatal explosion that killed six people and injured eight others. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast.

The Commander of 1 Brigade Nigerian Army Gusau, Brig Gen Timothy Opurum, confirmed the incident and instructed troops to assess the situation. The bandits’ actions have continued to terrorize Zamfara, resulting in numerous deaths and destruction of properties.
