Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has urged women to take extra precautions to avoid becoming victims in Nigeria, emphasizing the harsh reality of victim-blaming, particularly towards females. Reacting to recent reports of the disappearance of several women in various parts of the country, Njoku highlighted the societal tendency to blame the victims rather than addressing the root causes of such incidents.

In a statement, Njoku lamented, “Any woman who falls victim in Nigeria is doomed because people would still blame her for her misfortune.” She called on Nigerians to improve their attitudes and stop apportioning blame to the victims, especially women, in unfortunate circumstances. The actress’s comments aim to raise awareness and encourage a more compassionate and just response to the plight of women facing danger in the country.
