The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has extended a heartfelt goodwill message to all Muslim faithful in the local government area and Oyo State at large as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In a press release signed by Bello Adenola Jeleel, the Information Officer for Ido Local Government, the chairman emphasized that witnessing another Ileya is a reason for celebration and thanksgiving for the special grace bestowed upon us by Almighty Allah from last year until now.
“Eid-el-Kabir is a season that calls for sobriety and reminds us of the sacrifices of Ibrahim, our founding father of faith,” Hon. Adeojo said. He appealed to the public to celebrate the festive season moderately and encouraged them to reach out to their neighbors and remember the less privileged who cannot afford to slaughter a ram, demonstrating love and compassion beyond mere festivities.
Hon. Adeojo urged all Muslim faithful to adhere to Islamic tenets and to allow the lessons of Sallah to guide their daily lives beyond the celebration. He called on clerics to pray for Allah’s intervention in delivering Nigeria from all forms of insurgency, particularly in the Northern part of the country, which threatens the nation’s corporate coexistence.
Additionally, Hon. Adeojo urged Nigerians on pilgrimage to the holy land to remember their fatherland in their supplications, both collectively and individually, praying for Nigeria to become a country where peace and harmony prevail.
