Governor Makinde Mourns Chief of Army Staff, Offers Condolences to President Tinubu, Nigerian Army, and Osun State Government
Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja, calling it a profound loss for Nigeria. Governor Makinde praised Lagbaja as a true patriot and one of the nation’s most exemplary military officers.
In a statement released on November 6, 2024, by Dr. Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Oyo State Governor, Makinde extended his condolences to President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as to the Nigerian Army.
Governor Makinde also offered his heartfelt sympathy to the family of the late General Lagbaja, who served his country with distinction. Recognizing the significant loss for Osun State, where Lagbaja was a respected figure, Makinde extended his condolences to the government and people of Osun, mourning the departure of one of their own.
He prayed for Allah to grant peace to Lt. General Lagbaja’s soul and strength to his loved ones and colleagues during this difficult time.
