The entertainment industry in Ibadan is mourning the loss of Wilson Oruma, popularly known as “Givenchy,” who sadly passed away after a prolonged battle with kidney disease.
Givenchy’s health struggles began with a perforated intestine, which required successful surgery. Unfortunately, he was later diagnosed with kidney failure and faced significant challenges in raising funds for a transplant.
A pioneering figure in Ibadan’s hypeman scene, Givenchy was a multifaceted talent who explored various creative pursuits. His career spanned professional football, music (as part of the duo Lakers Crew), acting, and cinematography through his affiliation with AFI Films.
Givenchy’s passing leaves a void in the Ibadan entertainment landscape, and he will be deeply missed by his colleagues, friends, and fans.
