Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal Dare, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will emerge stronger from its current crisis. He emphasized that the party’s decision to support Rt. Hon. SKE Ude-Okoye remains valid and that the PDP is taking steps to learn from its mistakes and lead Nigeria forward.

Governor Lawal made these remarks during a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, following the passing of his older brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde. Lawal noted that the PDP’s ongoing crisis is a normal part of politics and that the party’s governors are working together to find solutions.¹
In a show of solidarity, Governor Makinde also received visits from several dignitaries, including African Development Bank (AfDB) President, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina; Minister of Livestock Development, Dr. Idi Maiha; and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Ibrahim Musa Gusau. They offered their condolences to Governor Makinde and his family, with Dr. Adesina praising the late Engr. Sunday Makinde as a partner and friend.
The NFF President also hinted at the Federation’s efforts to develop football from the grassroots, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education.
