A 44-year-old man, identified as Ayofe Kolawole, has been arraigned in court for assaulting a teacher at Rosebud School, Idimu, Lagos State. The incident, which was captured in a viral video on X (formerly known as Twitter), showed Kolawole physically attacking the teacher.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arraignment on Tuesday through a post on the X platform, stating, “44-year-old Ayofe Kolawole was arraigned this morning.”
The viral video had drawn widespread attention, showing Kolawole slapping and punching the teacher. The assault reportedly occurred after the teacher disciplined one of Kolawole’s children without his consent.
An X user, Alex Onyia, who shared the video, described the parent’s actions, stating, “This is a video of a parent at Rosebud School, Idimu, Lagos, beating up a teacher in front of students and even threatening to assault the school owner. Teachers in Nigeria may earn little, but such injustices against them are unacceptable. Over to you, police.”
