The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, has praised the outstanding performance of Abiodun Regina Nwagbo, an Agricultural Science teacher at Mother’s Joy College, Ibadan, who was awarded the prestigious 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year (MToY) Award. Prof. Adelabu commended her during a reception held in his office at Agodi, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Describing Nwagbo as a source of pride for Oyo State, the Commissioner recognized her as a diligent, resourceful, and dedicated educator. This was highlighted in a statement released by the Media Team of the Ministry of Education and Technology on November 5, 2024.
“Oyo State is proud of you. Your commitment and passion have been rewarded, and your dedication to acting ethically has brought you recognition and honor,” Prof. Adelabu remarked. “You’ve set a great example for other teachers. I encourage others to emulate your spirit, while you continue to raise the bar.”
In her response, Abiodun Nwagbo expressed gratitude to the Oyo State government, the Education Ministry, and her school principal for the support that enabled her to represent the state in the competition. She also extended her thanks to Nigerian Breweries Plc for the honor.
Abiodun Regina Nwagbo, a teacher of Agricultural Science and Economics at Mother’s Joy College, Ibadan, has set a notable example in the teaching profession.
