Oyo State to Observe Isese Day with a Work-Free Day on August 20

Governor ‘Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has announced that August 20, 2024, will be a work-free day in honor of Isese Day. This announcement was made via a circular issued by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Olanike Adeyemo.

 

Governor Makinde had previously declared that August 20 would be observed annually as a work-free day to commemorate Isese Day. This decision was affirmed in a statement signed by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor.

 

In the circular, the governor urged all traditional worshippers and citizens to use the day to pray for the peace, unity, and stability of both the state and the country.
