The Oyo State Government has called on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to prioritize the inclusion of girls living with disabilities in their girl-child education campaigns. This initiative aims to ensure that girls with disabilities are not left behind and can fully participate in educational opportunities, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment.
The Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Adelabu, made this call during the launch and dissemination of the *State of Girl-Child Education (SoGE) Report*. The event was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan.
Represented by Elder Delani Binuoyo, Prof. Adelabu commended the program’s organizers for their dedication to advancing girl-child education in the state. He emphasized that the inclusion of girls with disabilities aligns with the vision of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to provide equitable and inclusive education for all.
