The Oyo State Government has significantly enhanced the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Urban Development by appointing 32 new officers across various cadres, including Surveyors, Estate Officers, Land Officers, and junior staff. This move aims to improve service delivery and bridge the manpower gap within the Ministry.

During a one-day orientation program held at the Ministry’s Conference Room, Permanent Secretary Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, representing the Honourable Commissioner, expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor for the appointments. She emphasized the positive impact these new officers will have on the Ministry’s operations.

The Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Mr. Williams A. Funmilayo, highlighted the importance of the new officers familiarizing themselves with their work environment. He introduced them to Civil Service ethics and their specific roles, urging them to be dedicated, humble, and committed to their work.

The orientation program included insightful presentations from seasoned professionals. Retired Survey General Mr. Akintola discussed the role of government surveyors in land administration, while ESV Alh. Kunle Ogunsola, a retired Head of Local Government, spoke on the basic conduct expected of a Land Officer.

On behalf of the new recruits, Mr. Jimoh Waliu expressed gratitude to the State Government for the opportunity to serve. He assured that they are committed to contributing their efforts towards the progress of Oyo State.
