The Executive Secretary of the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Muyideen Olatunji, has announced that the Board is on the verge of completing the recruitment process for healthcare workers that began in 2021. This recruitment drive is a significant step towards strengthening the primary healthcare system across the state.
Dr. Olatunji disclosed that the Board is finalizing the employment of over 3,000 healthcare professionals who will be deployed to primary health care facilities spread across all 33 Local Government Areas in Oyo State. This initiative is crucial for improving the accessibility and quality of healthcare services in the state, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
In 2021, a total of 16,035 individuals applied for various healthcare positions, ranging from nurses and midwives to community health officers and other essential health cadres. Dr. Olatunji has urged all applicants who participated in the 2021 application process to revisit the recruitment portal. Starting next week, candidates can log on to [http://jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng](http://jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng) and navigate to the PHC job portal to check the status of their applications.
Those who are successful at this stage will be invited to sit for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations. The CBT will serve as a critical assessment tool to shortlist candidates for the next phase of the recruitment process. Applicants who meet or exceed the cut-off mark in the CBT will then proceed to the final stage, which includes a series of interviews.
This comprehensive recruitment process underscores the Oyo State government’s commitment to enhancing the capacity of its healthcare workforce and ensuring that residents across the state receive high-quality primary healthcare services.
