Otunba Famojuro, Double T, and Other VIPs Celebrate Opening of Idumota Gate in Ib North LGA

Otunba Seye Famojuro, Double T, and Other Dignitaries Attend the Commissioning of Idumota Gate Agodi Womai/POWA Ultramodern Shopping Complex in Ibadan North

In a landmark event aimed at boosting economic activities in Ibadan North Local Government Area, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, officially commissioned the Womai/POWA Ultramodern Shopping Complex, fondly referred to as Idumota Gate.

The shopping complex, designed to emulate the bustling commercial energy of Lagos’ iconic Idumota Market, is set to provide diverse goods and services, reinforcing the local government’s economic vibrancy.

The ceremony attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including Otunba Seye Famojuro, Chief Babatunde Tijani (popularly known as Double T), and other notable figures.

 

In his opening address, Mr. Akeem Olatunji, the Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), applauded the initiative as a significant alignment with Governor Seyi Makinde’s four-point agenda. He highlighted its potential to catalyze economic growth while crediting Governor Makinde for his unwavering support in making the project a reality.

Chief Babatunde Tijani (Double T) praised Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade for his exemplary leadership qualities, describing him as youthful, vibrant, humble, and loyal. He also lauded Governor Makinde for his transformative policies, particularly in infrastructure, health, security, and prompt salary payments.

Similarly, High Chief Amusa Eleruwere, the Ekefa Balogun of Ibadanland, commended both Governor Makinde and Hon. Olufade for their impactful governance. He likened Hon. Olufade to a “local government version” of Governor Makinde, emphasizing their shared vision for sustainable development.

Hon. Ademola Ojo, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, acknowledged Governor Makinde’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for investments, which has led to projects like the shopping complex.

Dr. Mrs. Doyinsola Ayo-Sonubi, Chairperson of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Oyo State Chapter, expressed gratitude to all stakeholders who contributed to the success of the project. She pledged continued support to ensure the complex achieves its objectives.

The developer of Womai City assured potential tenants and customers of uninterrupted power supply and a harassment-free environment within the shopping complex. He expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde, Otunba Seye Famojuro, and Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade for their unwavering support.

  • Hon. Demola Omotoso (Chairman, Oyo State Housing Corporation)
  • Mr. Adeniran Yinka Olusegun (Director of Estate)

Other attendees included councilors, supervisory councilors, special assistants, and notable community leaders.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Baba Ismaila Ashipa, a PDP chieftain, who expressed his gratitude to all attendees for their support and presence at the historic event.

This commissioning marks another milestone in the administration’s efforts to foster economic development and enhance the living standards of the people in Ibadan North Local Government Area.
