Renowned YBNL Music boss, Olamide, and award-winning singer Asake have reportedly parted ways following the official termination of Asake’s contract with the record label.
According to reports, the termination agreement allows Asake to retain the masters to all the songs he recorded while under YBNL. Despite this, both parties have agreed to maintain a royalty split for the songs as originally outlined in the contract, which was set to run for a minimum of 10 years.
Sources further disclosed that the agreement was finalized a few months ago after the release of Asake’s latest album, *Lungu Boy*. The amicable separation ensures both parties maintain mutual respect and potentially collaborate in the future.
Olamide’s gesture has been widely commended within the music industry for setting a progressive standard in artist-label relationships, allowing Asake greater independence as he navigates the next phase of his music career.
