Rivers United captain, Nyima Nwagua, has landed in Saudi Arabia to finalize his transfer to Al Sadd Club, a team competing in the country’s second division. Upon his arrival, Nwagua was warmly received at the airport by Al Sadd’s first-team supervisor, Mohammad Al-Dosari.
The experienced center-forward is set to sign a one-year contract with the Saudi club, marking a new chapter in his professional career. Nwagua, who previously played for Kano Pillars, spent three successful years with Rivers United, where he was instrumental in the club’s achievements.
During his time with Kano Pillars, Nwagua secured the 2019 Federation Cup, demonstrating his prowess as a formidable striker. His tenure at Rivers United was equally impressive, as he played a pivotal role in helping the team clinch the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title during the 2021/22 season.
Nwagua’s move to Al Sadd represents a significant step in his career, bringing his talents to the international stage. His experience and goal-scoring ability are expected to bolster Al Sadd’s ambitions in the Saudi second division, as they aim for promotion in the upcoming season.
