The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended an Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI II) following allegations of soliciting financial gratification from a traveler. This announcement was made by the NIS Comptroller General, Kemi Nandap, in a statement issued by the Service Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kenneth Udo, today in Abuja.
Nandap stated that the officer’s conduct, which was captured in a video circulating on social media, does not align with the values and professional ethics upheld by the NIS. She emphasized that such behavior is unacceptable and undermines the integrity of the service.
The Comptroller General reiterated the NIS’s commitment to identifying and removing corrupt elements within its ranks, consistent with its zero-tolerance policy towards corruption. She assured the public that the NIS is dedicated to maintaining high standards of professionalism and accountability among its personnel.
