The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a warning to Nigerians regarding the activities of a faith-based organization, Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries, led by Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin. The agency raised concerns over the ministry’s use of NAFDAC’s name to deceive the unsuspecting public into purchasing unregistered products.
In an official statement released earlier today, NAFDAC’s Director General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, emphasized that none of the products advertised and sold by Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries have been registered or approved by the agency. This raises serious concerns about the safety, quality, and efficacy of the products being offered to the public.
Upon receiving multiple petitions from concerned individuals and stakeholders about the misleading activities of the ministry, NAFDAC immediately took action to investigate the claims. The agency’s Director of Post Marketing Surveillance was tasked with coordinating the investigation in collaboration with the Delta State Coordinator.
The investigation aimed to verify the existence of any formal records or transactions between NAFDAC and Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries. The focus was to ascertain whether the ministry had obtained the necessary approvals for the products being marketed and sold in the Delta State Office of NAFDAC. However, the agency discovered that there were no such records, confirming that the products being promoted by the ministry have not been subjected to NAFDAC’s rigorous safety and quality assessment protocols.
NAFDAC has strongly advised the general public to exercise caution and avoid purchasing or consuming any products from Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministries or similar entities without proper verification of their registration status. The agency reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the health of Nigerians by ensuring that all food and drug products in circulation meet the required standards.
Prof. Adeyeye further urged Nigerians to be vigilant and report any suspicious or unregistered products to the nearest NAFDAC office. She highlighted the dangers of consuming unapproved products, which could pose serious health risks due to potential contamination, incorrect dosage, or lack of efficacy.
NAFDAC continues to emphasize its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of counterfeiting, illegal marketing, or distribution of unregistered products. The agency remains dedicated to protecting public health and ensuring that only safe and effective products are available in the market. Nigerians are encouraged to always verify the authenticity of any product through NAFDAC’s available channels to avoid falling victim to unscrupulous entities.
