The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has issued a stern warning to Nigerians involved in the export of processed or semi-processed foods, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on industry regulations.
Professor Mojisola Adeyeye, the Director-General of NAFDAC, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to rigorously enforcing these regulations, which provide the legal framework necessary for ensuring compliance across all sectors. This includes the manufacturing, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale, and use of regulated products.
Professor Adeyeye highlighted the importance of NAFDAC’s stringent stance in response to the rejection of certain Nigerian food exports and the concerns expressed by cocoa stakeholders regarding the NAFDAC Export Regulation 2024, which has been made available on the agency’s website for public comment. She emphasized that maintaining strict regulatory compliance is crucial for safeguarding the quality and reputation of Nigerian exports on the global market.
