The Nigerian Air Force’s Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has successfully destroyed a terrorists’ Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) factory located at Grazah in the Mandara Hills of Borno State. This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.

The operation was confirmed in a statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, today in Abuja. According to AVM Gabkwet, the air strikes were carried out on August 2, following intelligence reports that identified a possible IED factory and storage area for other logistics.

AVM Gabkwet explained that the air interdiction mission was a direct response to recent attacks on innocent civilians in Borno State, which involved the use of IEDs and suicide bombers. “The destruction of this IED factory is a significant blow to the terrorists’ operational capabilities and their ability to inflict harm on civilians,” he stated.

The successful air strikes underscore the Nigerian Air Force’s commitment to eradicating terrorist threats and ensuring the safety of civilians in affected areas. This operation is part of a broader strategy to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and disrupt their supply chains in the region.

The NAF has pledged to continue its surveillance and intelligence-gathering efforts to identify and neutralize any remaining threats. The operation at Grazah is a testament to the ongoing collaboration between intelligence agencies and the military in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria.

The public has been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities to aid in the continued efforts to maintain peace and security in the region.
