**Olukoyede Orders Investigation into Bobrisky’s N15 Million Bribery Allegations Against EFCC Officers**
The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into allegations of bribery involving some EFCC officers, as claimed by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, in a viral video circulating across the country.
In the video, which was shared by social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse (a.k.a. VeryDarkMan), Okuneye, an ex-convict, alleged that unnamed EFCC officers extorted N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges. The allegations have sparked public concern and have been widely discussed online.
This development was confirmed in a statement issued on September 24, 2024, by Dele Oyewale, Head of Media & Publicity for the EFCC. The statement, also posted on the Commission’s official X account, affirmed that the EFCC leadership has taken these claims seriously and is determined to investigate them thoroughly.
In response to the allegations, Olukoyede has assembled a team of investigators tasked with examining the claims. As part of the process, both Okuneye and Otse have been invited to the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate to assist with the investigation and provide any necessary evidence to support their accusations.
The EFCC reassures the public that this matter will be addressed with the utmost transparency, and the findings of the investigation will be made public upon conclusion. The Commission reiterated its unwavering commitment to its core values of integrity, courage, professionalism, and collaboration in all of its operations.
This swift action underscores the EFCC’s dedication to maintaining public trust and ensuring accountability within its ranks.
