In a groundbreaking move, Dr. Aderemi Ayodele, Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, has announced the issuance of promotion letters for the year 2022 to eligible officers in the local government service of Oyo State. This generous approval stems from the directive of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde.
Dr. Ayodele emphasized that the issuance of promotion letters aligns with the state government’s commitment to resolving the backlog of staff promotions dating back to 2017.
Addressing the press at the commission’s secretariat, Dr. Ayodele revealed that the first batch of promotion letters has been dispatched to beneficiaries across the 33 LG and 35 LCDA in the state. He highlighted that under Governor Makinde’s administration, over 10,000 eligible officers have received multiple promotions, marking a historic milestone in the service’s history.
This achievement, according to Dr. Ayodele, signifies the administration’s dedication to ensuring timely promotions for government employees, eliminating the need for retired staff to undergo promotion interviews after leaving the service.
The Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Deacon Taiwo Adewale, echoed Dr. Ayodele’s sentiments, urging civil/public servants, especially local government staff, to rededicate themselves to diligent service. He commended Governor Makinde for providing incentives that have boosted workers’ morale, leading to significant milestones in the civil/public service over the past five years of the administration.
