Makinde Appoints 10 New Judges, Vows to Strengthen Judiciary

Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, has said that collaboration of the three arms of government has helped in delivering democratic values to the people of Oyo State.

 

Governor Makinde said this while swearing-in ten newly appointed judges into the High Court of Justice and Customary Court of Justice, Oyo State at the Secretariat, Ibadan.

 

The Governor who expressed optimism that judicial sector will make impact on sustainable agenda framework of his administration, hinted that there was no political interference in the selection of the new judges.

 

Governor Makinde, while charging the new judges to perform diligently, expressed readiness of his government to deploy more technologies and innovation in the fight against traffic law offenders.

 

 

Earlier, Chief Judge of Oyo State, Justice Iyabo Yerima, who revealed that Makinde-led administration has appointed 15 judges, pledges judiciary continuous deliverance of mandate and services for the benefit of the people.

 

Justice Yerima, charged the new judges to be steadfast, honest and dedicated in facing the new challenges.

 

It would be recalled that the National Judiciary Council had recently approved the appointment of eight judges of High Court and two judges for Customary Court of appeal in the state.
