The Head Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State, is under tight security following reports of planned protests against the commission.
Security operatives from the Lagos Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and the Department of State Services (DSS) have been deployed, with patrol vans, heavy anti-riot gun trucks, and Black Marias strategically positioned on routes leading to the EFCC office.
Sources indicate that the protesters, rallying under the hashtag #ReformEFCC, have outlined six key demands, which they intend to submit to various EFCC offices nationwide. These demands aim to address issues related to the commission’s operations and seek reforms to enhance transparency and accountability.
The heightened security measures are in place to maintain order and prevent any disruptions that could arise from the demonstrations.
