The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, on Monday, congratulated the former Governor of the state and Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Senator Rashidi Ladoja, on his elevation to a beaded-crown-wearing Oba in accordance with the amended Olubadan Chieftaincy Declaration.
In a personally signed statement, Akintayo expressed his gratitude to the Governor of the state for resolving the controversies surrounding the issue of beaded crowns in the traditional system. He also acknowledged the efforts of the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), the Aare Musulumi of Oyo, Edo, and Delta, and other stakeholders for their contributions towards achieving unity, peace, and harmony, which led to this new development.
At the ceremony, the Governor, represented by Deputy Governor Barr. Bayo Lawal, presented the Staff of Office and the Certificate to Oba (Senator) Rashidi Ladoja, congratulating him on accepting the beaded crown.
In his statement, Akintayo expressed hope that the reign of Oba Ladoja would usher in peace in Ibadanland and urged the Otun Olubadan to continue prioritizing efforts that will enhance the status of the royal system in the state. He concluded by stating that the event marked an important milestone in the traditional leadership structure of Ibadanland, bringing renewed strength and peace among the members of the Olubadan-in-Council.
