The executive chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has described career officers as the engine room for the smooth and effective functioning of the local government.
The chairman gave these commendations during a send-forth program organized by the Christian Chapel, Ido Local Government, for some chapel members retiring from active service.
In his remarks, Hon. Adeojo praised the civil servants, stating that they are the backbone of the local government’s efficient operation. He advised the retiring officers to leverage their extensive experience gained over thirty-five years of service to venture into businesses that can sustain them after retirement.
The retired officers include Mr. Israel Adebayo, Mr. Makinde Paul, Mr. Ayeyemi Ekundayo, Deaconess A. M. Fatola, and Mrs. J. B. Osunlola.
The local government chaplain, Pastor Olaifa, in his sermon, encouraged the retirees to remain active in society despite retiring from active service. He emphasized that continued engagement could prevent loneliness, which can lead to sickness and untimely death, which he prayed would not be their portion.
The chaplain also praised Hon. Sheriff Adeojo for his friendly disposition towards the staff.
