The executive chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has been lauded for his exemplary leadership over the past three years.
The commendation was made by the leader of the legislative house, Hon. Rafiu Omotosho, during the valedictory sitting of the council to conclude their legislative activities for the term.
Hon. Omotosho highlighted that working with Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has been an enlightening experience for him and his colleagues, offering valuable insights into the intricacies of politics. He also expressed gratitude to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leadership in Ido for the opportunity to serve.
In his valedictory speech, Hon. Omotosho extended heartfelt thanks to his fellow councillors, stating, “It would be a disservice of the highest order if I fail to appreciate the support accorded to me as the leader of the house by the principal officers and other floor members of this honorable house.”
He urged the PDP chieftains in Ido to consider councillors who did not have the opportunity to be re-elected for other appointments, recognizing their loyalty to the party.
In response, the local government chairman, Adeojo, who has just been re-elected for a second term, acknowledged the legislators’ support and contributions over the past three years. He praised the departing councillors as lawmakers of distinction, marked by courage, excellence, and a commitment to public service.
Adeojo concluded by praying for the outgoing councillors and expressed his willingness to collaborate with them again in the future.
