The Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Adeojo, has applauded Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for the recruitment of more than 14,000 teachers for primary and secondary schools across the state.
Adeojo expressed his gratitude during a press briefing in his office on Wednesday, highlighting the governor’s commitment to improving the education sector and addressing youth unemployment.
The recruitment process, managed by the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and the Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), concluded with the publication of successful candidates for documentation and deployment.
Hon. Adeojo assured the newly recruited teachers posted to Ido Local Government of the council’s full support, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to enhancing the standard of education in the area.
“Governor Seyi Makinde’s consistent recruitment drive, particularly in the education sector, reflects his unwavering commitment to empowering youth and ensuring quality education in Oyo State. This initiative not only addresses unemployment but also strengthens the foundation of our educational system,” Adeojo remarked.
He noted the governor’s achievements in his first term, which included substantial youth engagement, and commended his continued focus on transformative policies in his second term.
“Our local government has a strong, positive relationship with teachers at both the primary and secondary levels. We are ready to provide all necessary support to the newly recruited teachers serving in Ido Local Government,” Adeojo added.
The council chairman reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to revitalizing education in the region and fostering a collaborative environment for educators and students.
