The Association of Joints Council Chairmen in Oyo state, is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives, especially children, in the stampede that occurred at the children’s funfair at Bashorun Islamic Grammar School.
In press statement made available to the press, by it’s public relations officer, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo, signed by the chairman Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, states.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray that they find the strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.
We commend the Oyo State Government for their prompt response, which helped prevent further casualties. The swift deployment of a rapid response team and the transportation of victims to various hospitals for medical attention demonstrate the government’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens.
We urge the public to remain calm and supportive of the affected families during this difficult time.
May the souls of the departed children rest in peace”.
