A High Court sitting in Ibadan has granted bail to Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, former wife of the Ooni of Ife; Oriyomi Hamzat, owner of Agidigbo FM; and Abdullahi Fasasi, the principal of Islamic High School, Basorun.

Justice Kamorudeen Olawoyin granted their bail applications during a ruling on, setting bail at ₦10 million each with two sureties of the same amount.
The court also directed that Agidigbo FM must refrain from broadcasting any news related to the ongoing trial.
Speaking with newsmen after the ruling
The defendants had filed their bail applications during the last sitting, the attorney General of Oyo state arguing against their application, stating reasons why they should not be granted bail.

The trio are facing a four-count charge, including negligence and criminal conspiracy, in connection with a tragic stampede at the Islamic High School, Basorun, during a children’s funfair. The incident claimed the lives of approximately 35 children.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the ruling, Adekunle Sobaloju, counsel to Oriyomi Hamzat, revealed the bail conditions will be finalized before the day ends.
According to him, “ the court delivered a ruling on the bail application filled on behalf of Oriyomi Hamzat and in that well considered ruling, the court granted his application for bail. Which means Oriyomi Hamzat has been Directed to be released by the prison custody on bail.
The court also stated the conditions for the bail. That is two sureties in the sum of 10 million naira.
“We are going to perfect the bail, God willing immediately”, he added.
Meanwhile, on the new 18 count charge filed by the Oyo state government, the counsel said he is yet to be served the suits with any former charges.
“ We read it on the social media just the way you read it and we have not been given any former charges by the state”, he said.
