Hon. Lanre Sarumi, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the last general election, has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic stampede that occurred at Islamic High School Bashorun Ibadan during a children’s funfair organized by the WINGS NGO.
The incident, which sadly resulted in the loss of young lives, has left the community devastated. Sarumi extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, praying for strength and solace during this difficult time.
He commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his swift response to the situation, which helped mitigate further casualties.
Sarumi urged the public to prioritize safety when organizing large-scale events, emphasizing the importance of robust security measures to prevent such heartbreaking occurrences.
