Four officers from the Imo State Command—Inspector Ibrahim Nainna, Unaka Maxvirgin, Inspector Miller Ibinitta, and Sergeant Antony Alozie—are undergoing an orderly room trial after a viral video accused them of extortion. The video, shared by Young C Entertainment, alleged the officers wrongfully arrested and detained an actor and others for possessing fake dollars used in film production. The Nigerian Police have detained the officers and initiated the trial to investigate the misconduct claims.
The state’s police commissioner, CP Aboki Danjuma, has also started inspecting police cells to ensure detainees are not held unlawfully. According to the accusations, the officers demanded a N1.5 million bribe and ignored explanations that the fake currency was for a movie. The detainees were reportedly held in poor conditions, with some experiencing health issues due to the neglect.
