Federal-State Collaboration: Minister, Oyo State Agency Join Forces for Oyo-Youth Growth

The Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Adebowale Falana, hosted a stakeholders meeting today, August 26th, 2024, at the Oyo State Secretariat. The meeting was graced by the presence of Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom, the Minister of State for Youth Development in Nigeria, alongside various youth organizations.

During the meeting, Hon. Ayodele Olawande Wisdom acknowledged all attendees and reiterated his commitment to ensuring the success of his ministry. He emphasized that his work would remain non-partisan and encouraged the youth to prioritize development over political affiliations. The Minister urged the youth to proactively engage with government initiatives through what he termed “Aggressive Engagement” and stressed the importance of self-reflection and genuine reconciliation, cautioning against the dangers of comparing oneself with others, which he identified as a root cause of many societal issues.

Hon. Adebowale Falana welcomed the Minister and the attending youth organizations, emphasizing that the gathering was focused on youth development through direct dialogue with the federal government. He expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of such engagements.

Hon. Victor Olujide, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Student Matters, also praised the efforts of the Minister and the Chairman of the Oyo State Youth Development Agency. He highlighted the importance of student participation in nation-building and advocated for greater involvement of student bodies in federal initiatives.

The youth organizations present expressed their desire for increased involvement in various federal government youth initiatives. They voiced their commitment to contributing to the development of the state and the nation.

Among the executives present at the meeting were Hon. Fisayo Daramola, Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Media, and Hon. Michael Ogunsina.
