The Super Falcons of Nigeria are set to face Algeria in a two-legged international friendly on Saturday, October 26th, and Tuesday, October 29th, 2024. These matches are part of both teams’ preparations for the upcoming 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON), where they will be vying for continental supremacy. The friendlies also provide a crucial opportunity for the Super Falcons’ caretaker coach, Justin Madugu, to assess his squad as he works to fine-tune tactics and strategies ahead of future competitions, including AWCON qualifiers and Olympic preparations.

While the fixtures are expected to serve as a valuable testing ground for both nations, the Super Falcons will particularly aim to maintain their strong reputation as Africa’s most successful women’s football team. Under Madugu’s guidance, the team will likely feature a blend of established stars and emerging talent, as the coach seeks to identify the right balance within the squad.

The venue for the matches is yet to be confirmed, with further details expected to be released shortly by the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). The two sides will look to use the friendlies not only as preparatory matches but also as an opportunity to foster stronger international football relations. Both matches promise to be competitive encounters as the teams build momentum towards AWCON 2024.
