As the holiday for the Eid-el-Kabir festival continues, expectations were high for people to visit recreation centers, parks, and malls. However, the roads leading to these fun spots were largely deserted.
Typically, after the merriment of eating, drinking, and enjoying the celebrations of Eid-el-Kabir, it is customary for people to flock to recreation centers. This year, however, visits to these places left many wondering, as the town did not reflect the usual festive mood.
Contrary to expectations, malls and recreation centers were not bustling with activity. Unlike previous years, very few people ventured out to enjoy the holiday festivities.
In an interview with Dparrot news crew, several individuals attributed the low turnout to the country’s economic conditions, which have made it difficult for many to afford leisure activities. Despite these challenges, some expressed that the economic situation could not dampen their spirit of celebration, emphasizing that Eid-el-Kabir is a once-a-year event that must be enjoyed.
As today marked the last day of the public holiday and Eid celebrations, many Muslim faithful prayed for more such festivals in the future, hoping for peace and unity in the country.
