A fire outbreak has engulfed the Oko Baba plank market in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State, causing widespread damage. Emergency responders from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, alongside the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), are currently on the scene working to contain the blaze.
According to reports shared on social media, the fire has spread rapidly, affecting several shanties within the market. An X user, Adedeji Olalekan, tweeting under the handle #Stylomedia, provided live updates, stating, “Okobaba Street is on fire now, all the shanties are burning.”
