The Executive Chairman of Ibadan North East Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Akintayo (aka O mu Yes), has extended heartfelt congratulations to the new Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakuleyin, on the occasion of his receipt of the Staff of Office from the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
In a statement signed by the Council’s Information Officer, Ikeoye Oyetoro, Hon. Akintayo described the coronation as a significant milestone in Ibadanland’s history, marking the beginning of a new era of peace, progress, and cultural rejuvenation.
Hon. Akintayo expressed deep gratitude to Governor Makinde for his unwavering support and commitment to upholding the traditional institution. He said, “The Governor’s leadership and vision for Ibadanland are exemplary, and we are grateful for his role in ensuring a smooth coronation process.”
The Chairman also thanked the kingmakers, traditional council, traditional rulers, sons and daughters of Ibadanland, the coronation planning committee, security agencies, and all stakeholders who contributed to the event’s success. He praised their dedication to Ibadanland’s cultural heritage, stating, “The collective efforts of all stakeholders have made this day a reality, and we are grateful for their support and goodwill.”
Hon. Akintayo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the new Olubadan in promoting Ibadanland’s rich cultural heritage. He stated, “We are ready to work with the new Olubadan to preserve our traditions, promote our cultural values, and enhance the socioeconomic development of our beloved city.”
The Chairman lauded Oba Olakuleyin as a worthy successor to the throne, highlighting his wealth of experience, wisdom, and dedication to the service of Ibadanland. He expressed confidence in the new Olubadan’s ability to lead the city to greater heights, foster unity among the people, and attract development to the area.
