Earlier today in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, distinguished dignitaries assembled as the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin I, conferred the prestigious chieftaincy title of Baale Balogun Orankan on Afeez Temitope Orankan. The official investiture took place at the historic Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, within the Ibadan North Local Government Area.
The Baale title, a recognized civil leadership role, bestows upon its holder the responsibility of safeguarding and leading their community. In his new position as Baale Balogun Orankan of Moniya, Afeez Temitope Orankan is charged with upholding traditional values and promoting the welfare of the people under his leadership.
In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Baale expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Olubadan, his family, friends, and the people of Ibadanland for their confidence in his leadership abilities. He pledged to serve with integrity, embracing the duties and expectations that come with the esteemed title.
Baale Afeez Temitope Orankan also used the occasion to call on other traditional leaders to prioritize unity and collaboration in the quest to advance Ibadan and its neighboring communities. He emphasized the importance of reinforcing Oyo State’s reputation as “The Pacesetter” by working together to achieve sustainable progress.
