Elder Wole Oyelese, Co-Chairman of the Oyo State Elders Council, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for organizing an impressive final burial ceremony for the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Senator Mohood Lekan Balogun. Oyelese also praised the governor for completing the newly furnished Olubadan Palace, a project left neglected by previous administrations.
In a statement, Elder Oyelese expressed his deep appreciation for the respect and honor shown to the late monarch. “The impressive burial ceremony and the beautiful palace renovation demonstrate the governor’s commitment to upholding the rich cultural heritage of Oyo State,” he said.
He further acknowledged Governor Makinde’s efforts in promoting unity and progress in the state. “Your leadership has brought significant development and peace to our dear state, and we are grateful for your dedication,” Oyelese added.
The late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Senator Mohood Balogun, was laid to rest in a grand ceremony attended by dignitaries from across the state and beyond. The completion of the newly furnished palace, after years of neglect, now stands as a testament to the rich history and tradition of the Olubadan stool.
Elder Oyelese praised the governor’s gesture in honoring the late Olubadan and his family, emphasizing that such acts of respect and recognition reinforce the cultural values and unity within the state.
