Fmr CCII President, Dr. Yemi Solade Commends Governor Makinde on Traditional Rulers’ Affairs, Applauds Lagelu Chairman, Kamorudeen’s Leadership at LG’s Inaugural Thanksgiving/Christmas Carol Service
At the inaugural Lagelu Thanksgiving and Christmas Carol Service, held at the local government secretariat, Iyana-Offa, former President of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Dr. Yemi Solade, took the opportunity to express his profound appreciation for Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, particularly in handling Oyo State’s traditional rulers’ affairs.
Dr. Solade praised Governor Makinde’s tact and diplomacy in fostering harmonious relations with the state’s royal fathers. He lauded the Governor for maintaining the delicate balance between modern governance and the preservation of cultural values, noting that this has strengthened the traditional institution in Oyo State. “Governor Makinde has shown great wisdom and respect in his dealings with our traditional rulers. His approach ensures that these revered institutions continue to play a key role in our collective progress,” Dr. Solade remarked.
In addition to applauding the Governor’s work with the traditional rulers, Dr. Solade commended Governor Makinde’s wider developmental efforts across the state. He highlighted Makinde’s achievements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education, which have brought tangible benefits to communities across Oyo State. “Governor Makinde’s dedication to the growth and development of Oyo State is evident in every corner. He has been relentless in driving projects that uplift the people and improve their living standards,” Dr. Solade stated.
Further in his speech, Dr. Solade singled out the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, for emulating Governor Makinde’s leadership style. The former CCII President praised Kamorudeen for his commitment to grassroots development and for taking bold steps in transforming the local government particularly through leadership, faith and community. “It is inspiring to see how Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen has modeled his leadership after Governor Makinde’s style. His efforts in infrastructure, security, faith and community are commendable and reflects true leadership,” Solade said.
The Thanksgiving and Christmas Carol Service, attended by local dignitaries, traditional leaders, and residents, served as a platform to celebrate achievements while fostering unity and reflection ahead of the new year. Dr. Solade’s words of praise were met with applause, underscoring the growing admiration for both Governor Makinde and Hon. Kamorudeen’s leadership.
