### Nigerian Man Seeks Justice After Court Officials Eject Him from His Home Over Wife’s Loan Default

A Nigerian man in Abuja has raised an alarm after being forcefully evicted from his home by court officials. The man, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, claims that his wife used the property as collateral to secure a loan without his knowledge or consent.

In a video circulating on social media, the visibly distressed man narrated how the situation unfolded. He explained that his wife had obtained a significant loan from a financial institution, using their jointly owned house as collateral. However, she defaulted on the loan repayment, leading the lender to take legal action.

The man stated that, unbeknownst to him, his wife’s failure to meet the repayment schedule prompted the court to issue a ruling authorizing the property to be seized. Court officials, accompanied by security personnel, arrived at the residence to enforce the court’s judgment, leaving him and his family members scrambling to gather their belongings before being ejected from the house.

Expressing his frustration and disbelief, the man appealed for public support and legal assistance to challenge the court’s decision. He argued that the property in question was not solely owned by his wife and should not have been used as collateral without his consent.

“I don’t understand how a house that I jointly own can be used to secure a loan without my knowledge. I never signed any document or agreement. Now, I am being thrown out of my own home,” he lamented in the video.

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, with many sympathizing with the man and calling for a review of the legal processes surrounding property ownership and collateralization in Nigeria. Legal experts have pointed out that the man may have grounds to contest the court’s decision if he can prove that he was not a party to the loan agreement and had no prior knowledge of his wife’s actions.

The financial institution involved and the court officials are yet to issue statements regarding the incident. Meanwhile, the man has vowed to pursue the matter legally to reclaim his property and seek redress for what he described as an unjust and traumatic experience.

This case has raised concerns about the legal and ethical implications of using jointly owned assets as collateral and the need for stringent measures to prevent unauthorized actions by spouses or family members.
