Jehovah’s Witnesses Rekindle Determination to Declare Good News as 2024 Annual Convention Begins in Ibadan
The Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Ifatumo Village, Ibadan, was filled with spiritual fervor this past weekend as the 2024 annual convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses kicked off. The three-day event, themed “Declare the Good News,” took place from Friday to Sunday and urged attendees to focus on spreading the positive message from the Bible, despite the challenges and negative events happening in the world today.
In his welcome address, Abolade Idowu, the convention chairman, emphasized the significance of the event, explaining the need to continually share the good news from the Bible to bring hope and encouragement to others.
One of the key highlights of the convention was the baptism ceremony held on Saturday, where 28 new Witnesses of Jehovah were baptized. Among them was Titilayo Ogunsola, who expressed immense joy at reaching this spiritual milestone.
Eleven more conventions will take place in Ibadan each weekend from Friday, September 13, to December 13-15, 2024. These conventions are part of a series of 301 scheduled across Nigeria, reinforcing the Witnesses’ commitment to spreading their message far and wide.
