Nollywood actress and producer Sharon Okpamen tragically passed away on Sunday, nearly a month after welcoming her second child. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by Jackreece Daniel on his Facebook page, where he shared that Sharon had slipped into a coma following childbirth and sadly did not recover. He wrote, “Nollywood actress and producer has passed on. She was in a coma after childbirth and couldn’t make it alive.”
The Great Edos platform also confirmed the devastating news, expressing the collective grief of the entertainment industry. They posted, “Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood and the Edo entertainment scene.”
Sharon had joyfully announced the birth of her second child, Osarhuese, on her Facebook page on July 31. In her post, she expressed her gratitude, writing, “To God be the glory. Osarhuese is here.” Tragically, not long after this joyful announcement, Sharon fell into a coma and was unable to recover.
Despite her contributions to the film industry, when contacted, the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Chief Emeka Rollas, stated that Sharon was not a registered member of the guild. Sharon, who hailed from Edo State, was a multifaceted individual—an accomplished filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur, and humanitarian. Her untimely death has left a profound impact on those who knew her and the larger Nollywood community.
