The organizers of the protest, in separate interviews on Sunday, vowed to continue with their demonstration, stating that President Bola Tinubu did not address their demands in his Sunday morning nationwide broadcast.

The protests, which have been marred by looting, saw hoodlums in Kano, Kaduna, and other northern states wreak havoc on both public and private properties. The police have been pursuing the culprits to recover some of the looted items.

During his nationwide broadcast on Sunday, President Bola Tinubu appealed to protesters to cease their demonstrations. He detailed the actions his administration has taken so far to improve Nigeria.

However, many prominent Nigerians, including Professor Wole Soyinka, have expressed dissatisfaction, stating that the president’s speech failed to address the core issues.

In an interview with DparrotNews, Ibadan residents also shared their thoughts on the president’s speech, echoing the sentiment that it fell short of addressing the protesters’ concerns.

Meanwhile, many opinion leaders have been calling on protest organizers to urge their followers to suspend their protests temporarily, giving the Tinubu-led administration time to improve its policies.
