Prominent philanthropist Agba’Akin Benedict Akika celebrated his birthday by officially launching the Omituntun Benedict Foundation (OBF), a non-governmental organization dedicated to youth empowerment and community development.
The day’s events commenced with an interdenominational prayer service in the morning, where prayers were offered for Chief Akika’s continued success and well-being. Following the service, Akika demonstrated his commitment to supporting the less privileged by providing food items to several widows. He also empowered some.

AbdulWasiu Akinmoyede Olafisoye, Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Senator Mudasiru Kamorudeen, and SSA to Governor Seyi Makinde on Chieftaincy and Local Government Matters, Hon. Ramata Agberemi Debo (RAD). Members of the Omituntun Benedict Forum and local communities were also present.
Chief Akika expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the birthday celebrations and shared his vision for OBF. Senator Mudasiru Kamorudeen, who performed the official launch, described Chief Benedict Akika as someone who believes that true greatness is measured not by what one has amassed, but by the lives improved through one’s existence.
“When you hear ‘Senator’ in Governor Makinde’s dynasty, it’s all because of Agba’Akin Benedict Akika as a human capital developer,” Kamorudeen noted.
In the evening, the OYIZA Orphanage & Foster Foundation visited Chief Akika, who welcomed them warmly and donated loads of food items to support the children and staff at the orphanage. This gesture was a testament to his continuous efforts in giving back to the community.
The launch of the OBF website aims to showcase the foundation’s work, seek support, and encourage volunteers and partnerships to further its mission.
