Nick Imudia, who was the CEO of D.light, a leading innovator in residential solar energy solutions and transformational household products, tragically took his own life on the night of Tuesday, June 25. Imudia jumped from the balcony of his apartment in Lekki, Lagos.
Before the incident, Imudia called his brother in the United States, providing instructions on how to distribute his wealth in case anything happened to him. He also made a poignant call to his young daughter from a previous relationship, assuring her that he would always be with her and that she only needed to look at the sky to see him.
Friends, family, and associates are in shock and are struggling to understand the reasons behind his suicide. Imudia, originally from the Ika South local government area of Delta State, had previously been married to the mother of his daughter, but the marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences. He later married a Caucasian woman, and it was believed that he had found happiness.
Before his tenure at D.light and Konga, Imudia held significant roles, including Regional Director at TCL/Alcatel and General Manager/Managing Director for West and Central Africa at Microsoft Device and Services.
The news of his passing has left many in disbelief, mourning the loss of a respected and accomplished professional.
