As the world marks the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking today, Dr. Kemi Afolayan, the Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Oyo State, has called on Nigerian youths to abstain from harmful drugs and illicit substances to secure their futures and protect society.
Dr. Afolayan emphasized the critical role of public enlightenment in combating drug abuse during her appearance on a radio program. She highlighted NOA’s commitment to educating the public about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of preventive measures.
The International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, observed annually on June 26th, aims to raise awareness and educate people about the hazards of drug abuse. This year’s theme, “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention,” underscores the importance of preventive measures in tackling drug abuse.
