In commemoration of the 2024 Children’s Day celebration, the George Aid Foundation of Nigeria, in collaboration with its USA counterpart and the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro, brought joy and love to the children of St. Richard’s Primary School in Jericho, Ibadan, on May 31st.
As part of the celebration, Rotarian Oluyemisi Folasere, a medical doctor and Director of Youth Mobilization for Rotary Club Nigeria Jericho Metro, educated the pupils on the importance of cleanliness, good healthcare, and hard work in achieving their career aspirations. Her interactive session emphasized the significance of maintaining hygiene and pursuing academic excellence.
Rotarian Damilola Olaleye, President of Rotary Club Jericho Metro, highlighted the event’s purpose to show love to the children and inspire them to reach their full potential while supporting others. He expressed gratitude to the George Aid Foundation of Nigeria for their significant support in making the event a success.
The children were treated to refreshments and ice cream, and each received toiletry materials and writing packs. This gesture marks the beginning of a monthly collaboration between the George Aid Foundation of Nigeria, its USA counterpart, and the Rotary Club of Ibadan Jericho Metro to support the less privileged in Ibadan, Oyo State.
This ongoing partnership aims to foster a spirit of community support and enhance the well-being and educational opportunities for children in the region.
