During the farewell ceremony for Oyo State’s Muslim Pilgrims embarking on the 2024 Hajj, Governor Seyi Makinde assured attendees that Olodo Bridge will be accessible to vehicles by week’s end.
Highlighting his administration’s achievements in socio-economic infrastructure, Makinde commended the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) for efficient visa processing and announced plans to formalize airlifting operations within eighteen months, including runway expansion at Ibadan Airport.
Makinde emphasized his commitment to ensuring the welfare of pilgrims and pledged that the Olodo Bridge would be fully operational by the next pilgrimage season.
Additionally, he urged pilgrims to uphold the state’s reputation as they represent Oyo State abroad.
Earlier, Sheik Abdulwahab Olamide Atere, Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing), appealed to the governor for logistical support to enhance the Board’s effectiveness.
