In a significant step towards enhancing governance transparency and accountability, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has signed the Oyo State Project Monitoring Agency bill into law. The enactment ceremony, held at the Governor’s Office in Secretariat, Ibadan, marked a pivotal moment for the state’s governance framework.
Accompanying Governor Makinde at the signing were prominent officials representing various facets of the state’s administration. Among them were Mrs. Olubumi Oni, the Head of Service, whose role in ensuring the effective implementation of the new legislation is crucial. Additionally, Alhaja Fausat Sanni, the Commissioner for Special Duties, stood as a testament to the collaborative efforts driving the state’s developmental agenda forward.
The presence of Barrister Bayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor, underscored the government’s commitment to overseeing the agency’s operations closely. Alongside him was Prof Olanike Adeyemo, the Secretary to the State Government, whose administrative expertise will play a vital role in the agency’s functioning.
Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, the Chief of Staff, and Hon Debo Ogundoyin, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, highlighted the legislative and executive synergy behind the bill’s passage and subsequent implementation. The ceremony also witnessed the attendance of Hon Abiodun Fadeyi, the Deputy Speaker, and Barrister Biodun Aikomo, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, both of whom bring legal acumen to the forefront of the agency’s mandate. Furthermore, the presence of Engr Muftau Salawu, the Executive Assistant on Project Monitoring, emphasized the practical aspects of overseeing project execution and ensuring optimal resource utilization.
The signing of the Oyo State Project Monitoring Agency bill into law represents a significant milestone in Governor Makinde’s administration, signaling a renewed commitment to fostering transparency, efficiency, and accountability in governance.
